My work moves through waterscapes, landscapes, and figurative portraiture—what I refer to as my 'ladyscapes". These are not separate practices, but emotional extensions of one another. Water first became my refuge. The boats, the shorelines, the open expanses I observed in my youth offered me a sense of connectivity between place and self that I could reflect out into the physical with painting. Over time, my work has turned inward. The human figure emerging as another landscape—one shaped by memory, vulnerability, and resilience. To me, in my ladyscapes, the shifting and endless expanse of the human body holds the same elusivity water carries.
